We're seeking 10 older adults to partner with Simsbury High School art students to design and paint Adirondack chairs. You must be available for the following Thursdays:
January 30 2:00-3:30 pm
February 6 2:00-3:30 pm
February 13 2:00-3:30 pm
March 5 10:45 am-3:30 pm (includes time for lunch)
You will have the opportunity to connect with youth as you collaborate to develop a design for your chair and then bring your design to life.
The chairs you've helped to design and paint will be placed in pairs throughout Simsbury, CT in the spring of 2020 in celebration of the town's 350th Anniversary.

While this program has already begun, we're happy to have you join at any time!
We're seeking older adults from the Farmington Valley in central Connecticut with basic woodworking/carpentry skills to mentor high school youth during the fall of 2019. You'll attend the Technical Enterprise class at Simsbury High School for from 9:15-10:45 am on the following days:
Thursday, November 14
Thursday, November 21
Thursday, December 5
Friday, December 13
You will have the opportunity to connect with youth by engaging in simple conversation and encouraging them as they do the work. Together, you'll build Adirondack-style chairs on which unique designs will be painted in early 2020. The chairs you've helped to build will be placed throughout Simsbury, CT in the spring of 2020 in celebration of the town's 350th Anniversary.
