“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” ~ J.K Rowling
Luminary Night is a fully inclusive event that unites an entire community for a single night of connection and reflection.
Luminary Night may include of a series of pre-events involving groups of youth and young adults delivering single flameless candle kits to older adults living in town - free of charge. These deliveries will include a period of intergenerational conversation between the adults and the youth.*
Luminary kits will be sold to the general public so that families and individuals of all ages can participate.
Luminary Night will take place on December 6, 2020 and will include a late afternoon large community gathering followed by residents of every age lighting their luminaries at their homes.
We plan to take photos and capture video from as many places around our community as we can.
*These intergenerational visits will only happen if it is safe to do so. If it is not safe, we will deliver luminary kits to adult living facility administrators for distribution to residents.
We'll provide additional details - including opportunities for people to assist - soon!
